I had a beautiful Nashville Warbler gleaning insects (or eggs) off lilac leaves this afternoon. Thankfully lilacs are late to drop their leaves -this fellow will have pretty slim pickings if he doesn't get a move on soon!
Also, I finally had a Red-bellied Woodpecker on Sunday. There have been lots of reports of them in the area.

A pair of Townsend's Solitaire were seen, on a very viable report, from friends at the pull off, 2/3 of the way up, Cadilac Mountain on MDI. "Keep your eyes peeled", and someone will soon see one of these western vagrants on our beautiful peninsula. There here, more often then they are reported this time of the year! This thrush loves the berries of the Mountain Ash, Winterberry,.........

While walking on Parker Point Rd. by the golf course, I watched a fisher take after a cat. After a minute or so, the cat bounded across the road to safety?? and the fisher ran back into the woods. He was a gorgeous animal.
Also today I had a Black-throated Blue Warbler in a tree at arm's length out in the back yard. He too was a beauty.

Yesterday morning at 8a.m. a handsome male red Northern Cardinal was seen at the sunflower feeder. A Sharp-Shinned Hawk was being chased by a crow in the back yard. The Sharp-Shinned Hawk is our regular visitor. A Barred Owl has been vocal almost 3 times a month here in East Blue Hill all summer and just last night around 8:30p.m.
