A male/female evening grosbeak couple visited the feeder all day today, in addition to the usual goldfinches, chickadees, hairy & downy woodpeckers, mourning doves, & a few crows trying to scarf some suet which had fallen to the ground. The male & female humming birds continue to feed quite frequently throughout the day. I heard robins also.

We had our first hummingbird on May 1 and a Baltimore Oriole spent 36 hours here eating oranges. First Ovenbird yesterday. First Black-throated Green Warbler today. A pair of Yellow-bellied Sapsuckers is going crazy drilling holes into apple trees and other things and calls frequently. The first wood frog eggs hatched yesterday.
