Adding to Kathy's merlin observation. A few years ago I had a sharpie face off against 3 crows. She chased each one in turn, they would fly all over the back yard and then return to the perch where they started from, and then she would take on the next one. It was definitely a game - I was surprised because raptors are not know for being "playful".

I enjoyed watching 2 Merlins harassing a small group of crows for about 45 minutes this AM. I have seen this at my place several Septembers. Interestingly it almost appears to be a game as neither the crows nor the Merlins quit the "game", instead they dove and retreated continually. A treat to watch.
