Great Meadow 4/28/07

BOBOLINK (FOY) back on breeding territory. Early spring male. About half way into breeding plumage.
~300 PALM WARBLER (if any thing this is short of actual number seen)
~300 YELLOW-ROMPED WARBLER

The Sandhill Crane left on this last Wed. at about 9:30 in the AM. I saw the bird fly off to the north and I have not seen the bird since.

Tons of black flies. Not biting yet, just a nuisance. I inhaled a few and with the appropriate reflexes removed them out of my trachea and swallowed them. They are rather sweet and it is quite understandable to me why the warblers were in this location. Naturally they were simply dining on them and not choking on them first.

Pertville Rd. feeder
FIELD SPARROW still hanging around.
28 April 2007 - Sedgwick
