Approx. 300 Common Eider and 11 White-winged Scoter at the Reversing Falls in Blue Hill today, along with 1 Red-necked Grebe -- up from 140 Common Eider and 4 WW Scoter on Friday. I have also seen around a dozen Black Duck in the last few days in the upper Bay.

Lots of Juncos have returned to the feeders over the weekend as well as sparrows galore! -mostly song and white-throated.
We had a Red-bellied Woodpecker at the feeder this morning.
For your info, the last hummingbird sighting for our yard was Friday, Oct. 3.

65 Common Eider and 1 Female White-winged Scoter at the Reversing Falls this morning. The first Eiders started showing up at the Falls this year around October 1.

Notes: High tide. Due to the 3 inches of rain in the last 24 hours and the fact that the ground is completely saturated, some small pools of water formed about 15 feet just off the west side of the road in the wrack that had accumulated there.
